This product works fine with my Mac for burning DVDs and reading data DVDs, but it cannot play DVD movies. Buyer beware! See attached image.

Perhaps this is ok for some, but it did not work with my computer. It was recognized as a new plug and play device, but did not register as a new drive and thus could not move any files to dvd, which was the reason I had bought it.

I just returned as it worked for 2 days and then just collapsed — neither mac nor windows would recognize it as a drive!!!

It does what it’s supposed to do but I expected more from it. Nice speed but I wish it would run faster on a USB 1.1 but then that’s a limitation of my system. All around good product for the money.

When I tried to watch a dvd movie from my HP netbook, no sound comes out from the speakers but the video is ok. Tried several dvds and still no sound comes out from the dvd even though the volume is on its highest level. When I tried listening to cd music, the sound of the music is fine. Sent an e-mail to NERO regarding the problem on sound but couldn’t understand their technical instructions. Tried some VCD and it works fine – with videos and sound. I don’t know what I did wrong or if my HP netbook doesn’t work well with Samsung products. Got fed up with it and returned it to Amazon.com for refund! I’ll probably order the USB powered HP external dvd writer even though it’s a little bit expensive.
